Size guide and measurements

There's nothing worse than a cold backside and legs when you're active in cold conditions, whether that's running, hiking, climbing or skiing. Sometimes a three quarter length is the better option: enter the Thermal Power Cropped Leggings.

Thick, soft and fleecy inside, with a hard-wearing face that stands up to a harness, a pack and a full season. The cropped leg sits around mid calf, so it meets your mountaineering socks and overlaps plenty with ski socks. Less bulk around the ankle where boots pinch, which makes them our pick for ski boots and double mountaineering boots.

Key features

  • Dual-faced stretch fleece, brushed inside for warmth
  • Cropped at mid calf to sit above ski and mountaineering socks
  • Less bulk at the ankle, where technical boots pinch
  • Elastic-free high rise waistband that won't dig in
  • Fold the waistband down for a lower rise
  • Four-way stretch that recovers its shape
  • Moves moisture away from your skin
Fabric and technology

A dual-faced stretch fleece: brushed and fleecy against your skin, smooth and hard-wearing on the outside. The soft side traps warm air and moves moisture, keeping you comfortable while the smooth side resists abrasion and layers easily.

It stretches four ways and recovers its shape, so it moves with you rather than restricting you, and adapts to your body. It's the fabric we keep coming back to for cold, active days.

Specification
  • Fabric: 58% polyester, 35% nylon, 7% elastane, 230gsm
  • Made in: Portugal
Fit

High rise and close fitting, with the hem sitting around mid calf. Fold the waistband down if you prefer a lower rise.

Why we made this

Cold legs ruin a day faster than almost anything, and the legwear meant to prevent it usually brings its own problems: elasticated waistbands that dig in under a harness or hip belt, scratchy labels, and fabric that turns cold and clammy when it gets wet.

We set out to fix all three. An elastic-free high rise waistband that stays put without pressure, so there's no cold gap between layers - and if you'd rather a lower rise, fold it down. A brushed inside that stays warm even when it's damp. And enough stretch that you won't even notice them once they are on.

These are the leggings we wear all winter, and the reason we stopped looking for better ones.

Made in Portugal

Sewn in a modern, sustainably minded factory who invest in energy efficiency, waste reduction and optimised production processes. Combining technological innovation with practices that respect the environment and people, they truly understand what it means to produce clothing in a responsible way.

Premium Portuguese fabric

With a long standing tradition in clothing, the Portuguese textile industry produces fabrics of the highest quality. Our supplier uses technical nylon fibre for the face, and super soft polyester for the back, blended with just enough elastane to create stretch without holding on to excess moisture. The perfect fabric for our leggings.

Reduced carbon footprint

By choosing to produce both the fabric and the finished garments in Portugal, we greatly reduce the carbon used in transportation. It is not uncommon for fabric to be made thousands of miles from the factory; ours is made just 20 minutes down the road. Bringing goods overland rather than by sea or air reduces emissions again.
