Size guide and measurements

The perfect weight fleece does exist: light enough to carry as a spare layer, breathable enough for a mid-layer and warm enough to standalone in summer.

Designed with women in mind, by focussing on fit and the features that matter for active use in the mountains (and all the places in between). A zipped chest pocket that is always accessible, low profile hand pockets that won't dig in or chafe under a harness or hip belt, and a close fitting hood with a high collar and thumb loops mean you can push the point where you need to layer up that little bit further.

Active fit, designed to layer over a baselayer. If you prefer a looser fit you may want to size up.

Key features

  • Warm enough to wear on its own, light enough to carry as a spare
  • Breathable enough to climb in as a midlayer
  • Zipped chest pocket that stays accessible with a pack on
  • Low-profile hand pockets that won't chafe under a harness or hip belt
  • Close-fitting hood with a high collar
  • Thumb loops keep your sleeves where you put them
Fabric and technology

A dual-faced stretch fleece: brushed and fleecy against your skin, smooth and hard-wearing on the outside. The soft side traps warm air and moves moisture, keeping you comfortable while the smooth side resists abrasion and layers easily.

It stretches four ways and recovers its shape, so it moves with you rather than restricting you, and adapts to your body. It's the fabric we keep coming back to for cold, active days.

Specification
  • Fabric: 58% polyester, 35% nylon, 7% elastane, 230gsm
  • Made in: Portugal
Fit

Active fit. Designed to layer over a baselayer and under a shell. If you prefer a looser fit you may want to size up.

Why we made this

We all have fleeces we've relegated to 'off the hill' use only, because they don't work that well - too warm or too bulky, or a feature set that irritates us. We set out to create our 'goldilocks' fleece. Warm enough to wear on its own, breathable enough to climb in as a midlayer, light enough to carry as a spare. A zipped chest pocket that stays accessible with a pack on, low-profile hand pockets that won't chafe under a harness, and a close-fitting hood with a high collar for when the wind gets up. Thumb loops keep your sleeves where you put them.

It's the layer that lives in the pack all year, and the one we reach for most.

Care and aftercare

Discrete zipped chest pocket

Keep your essentials close at hand so they are accessible even if you're wearing a pack or harness. And if you don't want to use it, you won't even notice it's there.

Pockets that prioritise comfort

If you've ever had a zip rub underneath a loaded pack or harness, you'll know how painful it can be. Low profile pockets with lycra binding solve this while providing quick access storage.

Unobtrusive thumb loops

There when you need them to boost warmth by covering the back of your hands, but designed so they won't gape or catch if you're not using them.

Made in Portugal

Sewn in a modern, sustainably minded factory who invest in energy efficiency, waste reduction and optimised production processes. Combining technological innovation with practices that respect the environment and people, they truly understand what it means to produce clothing in a responsible way.

Premium Portuguese fabric

With a long standing tradition in clothing, the Portuguese textile industry produces fabrics of the highest quality. Our supplier uses technical nylon fibre for the face, and super soft polyester for the back, blended with just enough elastane to create stretch without holding on to excess moisture.

Reduced carbon footprint

By choosing to produce both the fabric and the finished garments in Portugal, we greatly reduce the carbon used in transportation. It is not uncommon for fabric to be made thousands of miles from the factory; ours is made just 20 minutes down the road. Bringing goods overland rather than by sea or air reduces emissions again.

Great hoody for outdoor activities.

"Great hoody for outdoor activities. Fit is exactly as described on the website, a snug mid-layer (definitely size up if you are looking for a looser fit). The sleeves are long enough to actually use the thumb loops. The snowflake details are a nice touch!"
